CHÂTEAU MADELINOT IN VANCOUVER TO PROMOTE THE SEAL PUPS

Château Madelinot was present again this year at the winter convention of the Canadian Inbound Tourism Association (Asia Pacific), held in Vancouver from December 3 – 6, 2018. The annual event kicked off with a Québec Original afternoon networking event organized by the Alliance de l’industrie touristique du Québec, where members had a chance to have an initial meeting with different travel agencies. The promotional week in Vancouver came to a close after two days of meetings with travel agencies from Japan and China. Château Madelinot has taken part in this event for over 15 years in order raise international awareness about our winter adventure offerings, including the seal pup watching activity. The presence of the Magdalen Island company at this event is as important for the Islands as it is for the travel agencies, all represented by this association (CITAP).

With the reality of climate change in recent years, the management team at Hôtels Accents has had to think about how to continue this winter tourism experience without having to cancel the event due to a lack of ice near the archipelago. With this in mind, we collaborated with our partner, Canadian Helicopters, to develop an experience that would be equally appealing whether there was ice or not. The new package, which we have offered for a year now, was tested during the last two days of the 2018 winter experience and was positively received by guests. The goal is the same: to deliver a unique experience to our guests. This new package has been very favourably received by travel agencies, who are reassured to know that their customers will be able to visit the Islands year after year, regardless of ice conditions. Our Japanese customers are back again and interest on the part of the Chinese market for luxury adventures such as seal-pup watching is ever-growing, much to the delight of the Château Madelinot team.

The winter package and seal-pup watching activity will be held from February 21 to March 18, 2019. With Auberge Madeli “Has it all,” Château Madelinot “Seafront” and Resto Bistro Accents, Hôtels Accents is proud to contribute to the development and visibility of the Magdalen Islands as a destination.
